Self-care, For a Better You

Self-Care, For a Better You

Hey guys, its Nanjiba again! And I am back to convince you all to start exercising with me!

During this tough situation, it is easy
to lose oneself in the repeated cycle of the monotonous lifestyle most of us are forced to lead right now. I would know because all I have done for the first few weeks was to eat sleep and repeat. And with firsthand experience, I can tell you that this is not good for one’s mental, physical and phycological wellbeing.
Self-care is one of the most important practices that should be prioritised  to prevent a mental breakdown and
also to bring change into this dull cycle.

The first step to self-care is exercising!

I have personally challenged myself with a 30-day hour-glass challenge and so far, I have somehow stuck to it. It is a bit too much for a couch potato like me but it provides a change to my usual lifestyle. I am not asking my fellow audience to start such a tough challenge with me but I do recommend putting away at least 30 mins a day to do some simple stretching. Trust me, the benefits of this will be clear soon. Believe it or not, but exercising will help with the unmotivating mindset and procrastinating as it helps you gain focus on what you need to get done. When you start, don’t give up ok?

Second step! Food!

Because of the fact that I am a couch potato, this step has been especially hard for me but this is also important for self-care. To combat my excessive eating practices, I have chosen to start fasting. Don’t worry! I am not asking any of you to follow my footsteps, but we all know the benefits of fasting. I recommend setting a challenge or creating a chart to reduce unhealthy food amount and increase healthy food intake. Eating healthy has the power to lessen depressive thoughts as well as make the body light, th
us encouraging productivity!

The third and final step, self-care!

Do what you enjoy. For the fellow ladies, give yourself a spa treatment and include all the manicure, pedicure, and facials you want! And for the gents, do all the video gaming you want! This may sound stereotypical, but I honestly do not know what guys do for self-care (sorry!). Do not throw yourself at work and make sure to take breaks for things you enjoy. Doing what you love is important to ensure strong mental health during this situation as it provides an enjoyable escape from reality, which is needed.
Follow these steps, spend quality time with family and friends and I hope to see you soon. Stay strong!
